Travel Diaries: Dubrovnik, Croatia (Part 2)

Hey Everyone,

This year I was lucky enough to travel to Dubrovnik! This is a little travel diary of what I got up to while I was there! Click here to read Part 1.

Warning, the following images might cause severe pangs of jealousy and wanderlust!

Thursday 14th September

After the excitement of visiting Old Town on Wednesday, Thursday was all about relaxing in the sunshine and enjoying the view! When I’m on holiday I always like to take out a little time for myself, after all it’s probably one of the only times where I have nothing to worry about and can just relax. This year I read A Game of Thrones by George R.R Martin, it’s fab! I loved the TV show and the book is even better!!

Friday 15th September

Along with visiting Old Town Dubrovnik, next on my to do list was a little island hopping! For me this was through the Elaphiti Islands. This is a group of three Islands, Šipan, Lopud and Koločep. We went by boat, it took about 1 hour to get to the first island, Lopud and then the rest of the journeys were quite short, thankfully!

Lopud – this island is best known for its beaches, and boy they didn’t disappoint! The beach was about a 25 minute walk through the middle of the island, while it was a tough walk in 30 degree heat it really was worth it!

Šipan – This island was a lot quieter than Lopud, but there was still lots to see and do!

Koločep – This was the final stop and an equally lovely little island! I adore watching the sea and how peaceful it makes me feel, so these islands were perfect for me!

I’d really recommend this trip if you’re going to be in Dubrovnik for a few days! I think it worked out at around £30-£40 and included lunch so it really is a fab bargain! Not to mention we got home in time to watch the sun set behind the islands!

Saturday 16th September

As this was our last full day we decided to head back into Old Town Dubrovnik and revel in the views one last time! This time we spent the afternoon walking up all the little side streets and then walked over to Fort Lovrijenac!

Sunday 17th September

Hometime came and with it the rain and dreariness of Belfast. I might not have another holiday booked just yet but I am definitely counting down the days until I can see the sun again!

Please send me some suggestions for where to go next year!
