My Hightlighters Collection

Hey Everyone,

I love reading beauty collection posts, so I thought I would start a new section on my blog focussed around my makeup collection. First up is one of my favourites – Highlighters! My highlighters collection is quite small in comparison to others but I honestly love almost all of them and use them all the time!

Individual Highlighters

MAC Extra Dimension Skin Finish – Soft Frost

I got this for Christmas and ever since it has become one of my favourites. It applies quite sheer and natural but can be built up to a beautiful iridescent glow.

MAC Mineralize Skin Finish – Soft and Gentle

This gives a lovely peachy shine to the skin. It is a really lovely natural highlight that looks amazing in the summer months! It can also be built up to give a strong highlight, which is lovely for the tops of the cheekbones.

The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer

This has been a long time favourite of mine, the light champagne colour works so well with a number of different look and always gives a beautiful glow.

Highlighting Kits

Sleek Highlighting Palette – Precious Metals

(L-R) Platinum, Royal Gold, Renaissance Gold and Antique Bronze.

Sadly I don’t use this palette anywhere near as much as I should, the colours are lovely and they add such lovely dimension to the skin. The first three shades are all cream, which personally I find hard to use and the last shade is a little too dark for me to use as a highlight.

Makeup Obsession Strobe Balms and Highlighters

Β (L-R) Strobe Balm Precious, Strobe Balm Chrome, Highlight Moon, Highlight Bronze

I really love this brand and the fact that you can create your own palette, it’s so handy for travelling or if you are fussy about highlight shades! These shades all give such a great glow and aren’t too chunky which is amazing! I love the shade Precious and Moon, they work so well together but are also lovely alone! I’ve never worm Chrome as a highlight but it is lovely as an eyeshadow base when using a silvery eyeshadow and the shade Bronze is really pretty!

Anastasia Beverly Hills – Nicole Guerriero Glow Kit

(L-R) Kitty Kat, Forever Young, Daydream

These are such beautiful colours, I really love how they have a metallic shine instead go being a chunky glitter! The shade Kitty Kat will make a lovely highlighter or even a beautiful eyeshadow! I think the shade Daydream might be a little too dark for me to use as a highlighter but I would definitely use this one as an eyeshadow as well!

(L-R) Forever Lit, Glo Getter, 143

These shades are probably my favourite in the palette, I can see myself getting so much use out of all of them! Forever Lit looks to be a beautiful iridescent white shade and Glo Getter and 413 both seem like very pretty golden shades!

Cream Highlighters

Benefit Β Watts Up

This gives a beautiful champagne glow! I like to use this under powder highlight for added impact!

I really like to use illuminators mixed in with my foundation, I find they give such a beautiful glow to the skin and can stop your face from looking too ‘flat’ after foundation!

(L-R) Sleek Bare Kissed Illuminator – Monaco, Tanya Burr Cosmetics Face Illuminator and Wild About Beauty Rose Water Illuminating Serum

I find that these all create that beautiful ‘glow from within’ look on the skin. The Sleek one is the most pigmented and can be a little harsh if you apply too much! I like the Tanya Burr one the best though as it gives the most natural affect.

What’s your favourite highlighter at the moment?

Hope to see you around,
