Palette of the Month: September

Hey Everyone!

This month I’ve chosen the MAC Amber Times Nine palette for palette of the month! I’ve had this palette since December and I find it really easy to use and to incorporate the shadows into almost every look I do!

There are 3 matte shades, two shades with a frost finish and one satin finish shadow, two lustre finish shadows and one velvet finish shadow.

Most of the shadows do have good pigmentation, with Ricepaper being the only exception, this is the first shade on the second row! My favourite colours in this palette are Kitties, the second shade on the first row and Don’t Tell, which is the first shade on the third row. Both of these shadows have a lustre finish so are really lovely and sparkly on the lid.

I feel like I should point out that the shadows are a lot smaller than MAC’s individual shadows, this makes them great for travelling but I feel like the shades you use the most would run out very quickly!

Overall I would say that this is a good neutral palette but it is not the best one I own and definitely not the best one out there! If you are a beginner looking for a neutral palette I would recommend the Chocolate Bar palette by Too Faced (review here) as there are a lot of comparable shades but there is a bigger selection and it is not that much more!

Have you tried any of these MAC Palettes?

Hope to see you around,

Love,

Charlotte xx

  1. The shades are pretty, but I do wish it was more pigmented. You need a good primer for the shadows and maybe fix plus/visine for the shimmer shades. I actually used this palette for my engagement photos makeup look, and it was really pretty on camera. I do agree that the Chocolate bar palette is a better option. It’s easier to use and really pigmented
