On Friday I posted a review of the Tanya Burr Hollywood Eye Palette (here) and decided it was my palette of the month! This is the look I have created with this quad, I’ve included three different lip options to show you how versatile the eye look is!
To start with I primed using Benefits Porefessionsal primer and then applied the Urban Decay Naked Skin concealer in the shade Light Neutral, I find this to be slightly too dark for my skin so I like to apply it under my foundation! For foundation today, I decided to use the Nars Sheer Glow in the Shade Mont Blanc and then I applied the Bare Minerals Stroke of Light corrector to my under eye area to help lighten it up! I set my foundation using the Rimmel Stay Matte powder in the shade 003 Peach Glow. To add some shape colour too my face I used the Balms Mary Loumanizer on my cheekbones to highlight and Benefits hoola bronzer, for blush I used the Too Faced Love Flush blush in Love Hangover! And finally for brows I used the Soap and Glory Archery pencil in the shade Hot Chocolate and then applied Benefits Gimme Brow to set them in place.
To begin I applied the lightest shade in the palette Nude Delight, all over my eye from lash line to brow bone, I then went in with Bookworm, which is a warm matte brown and blended this throughout my crease. Once I was satisfied with the colour I use applied Gold Coin on my lid and Nude Delight to my inner corner. For a really simple day time look I would stop here and apply some mascara as this part in itself is a lovely look!
I decided to continue the look by applying Enchantment to my lower lash line, this glittery shade helps to add a pop of colour to the look, but sadly I couldn’t capture it too well on camera!
To finish off I applied black eyeshadow to my lash line and then a black eyeliner to my waterline. I think a look like this is best with lashings of mascara so I choose benefits They’re Real mascara for my top lashes and MAC Extended Play Mascara for bottom lashes!
For a simple nude look I went for Soap and Glory 5th Avenude lipstick, this helps to keep the look daytime appropriate and casual.
To add a little spice I went for a mauve lip using NYX lip pencil in 831 Mauve and a NYX lipstick in the shade B52!
To add some WOW factor I opted for a bright matte red lip using a Maybelline lip liner in the shade 547 Pleasure Me Red which works perfectly with MAC’s Ruby Woo lipstick. I think this look is quite festive with the red lip and gold eye!
Overall I really like this look, the glittery shade under the eye is a nice change and it works well with a range of lip colours so is a good look to have in the repertoire! I think the mauve lip is my favourite as it is still quite fancy and dramatic but is still casual as well! What sort of lip colour would you wear with this look?
Hope to see you around,
