Golden Eyes

Hey Everyone!!

As a wearer of glasses there is nothing I love more than a nice winged liner, but recently I’ve been skipping the glasses and the eyeliner in favour of a somewhat smokey eye. Last night I went to Ramore Wine Bar for my dinner and tried out a golden smokey eye. I know the picture isn’t great and I forgot to take some more as I was running as as per usual! I think you can still see how the warm golden tones and the lack of eyeliner! I’ve got to say that I’m loving this over my normal eyeliner look!

For this look I started with the Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Colour Correcting Adjust, I applied this mainly to my cheeks and chin, as I find I get very red in those areas. On top of this I applied the Max Factor Colour Adapt foundation in the shade 70 Natural. I really like this foundation but I find that the colour range is very limited, even for my pale skin! And to set I used the Rimmel Stay Matte powder, this is definitely one of my favourites and always leaves a perfect finish.

Too add some shape and colour to my skin, I opted for the Soap and Glory Solar Powder. Honestly I’m not too sure how I feel about this, I find that the colour pay off is rubbish, I don’t  know if  I’m just too pale or what the problem is but it just doesn’t show up on me. On a brighter note I decide to go back to my old faithful Benefit Coralista blush, and because this is a shimmery blush I skipped highlighter. This blush has been a favourite of mine for quite some time and I find myself constantly going back to it. And for the brows I used the Soap and Glory Brow Archery in Hot Chocolate. This is my go to product whether I want soft brows or bold, it’s perfect for any style.

Now for the main event, the eyes. For a base I used the Maybelline Colour Tattoo 24HR in the shade On and On Bronze. I really love using this as a base, I find that it helps to make my eyeshadows more long lasting and makes the golden eyeshadows I used on top really pop! All the eyeshadows I used in this look came from the Smashbox Full Exposure Palette. This is a nice palette, but honestly for the price I would’t recommend it! The shadows are just not pigmented enough for me and the shimmery colours can have a tendency to end up looking very chunky.

I used the S3 shade which is a glittery soft gold shade over my lid and blended this using a mixture of M3 and M5, these are matte mid tone light brown shades that really helped to blend  out the Colour Tattoo and the golden shade. To smoke out the outer-V, I opted for M6, this is a matte ashy dark brown that helped to neutralise the warm tones in this look. I really enjoy using a darker shade in the outer-V, I find it helps to make my eyes appear larger and can help me to achieve that cat-eye shape, without the liner! Finally, I used the M7 shade, which is a matte black to line my lash line. For the lower lashes I used the S3 shade mixed with the M3 shade and then a mixture of M6 and M7 to line the lower lash line.

For the finishing touches, I used the Maybelline the Falsies Flared mascara for my upper and lower lashes and then went over this with the Maybelline the Falsies Push Up Drama mascara to help thicken my lashes. For the lips I feel any of the Mauve Liquid Lipsticks mentioned in one of my previous posts would look great. I used the NYX Lipliner Pencil  in 831 Mauve, followed by my newest lipstick, the Soap and Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Nude Collection Lipstick in the shade 5th Avenude, which is a beautiful matte nude!

I hope you enjoyed this look as much as I loved wearing it. I can feel it becoming one of my summer go to looks, the warm golds seem perfect for the sunny summer. Sadly, in Norther Ireland a sunny summer doesn’t happen all that often!

Hope to see you around,

Love,

Charlotte xx
