Beauty, the flu and you.

Hi everyone!!

For the past two weeks I have had the flu! It just seems to be getting worse instead of better and I’m starting to get seriously fed up with being sick. One of the worst parts about having the flu (apart from how it makes you feel) is that everyone feels the need to comment on how sick you look and how pale you are, it’s borderline insulting really. So I thought I would create a little list of things which have helped be look and feel a little bit better while I’ve been unwell.

  1. Get plenty of rest. I know it’s an obvious one but by trying to go about your normal life when you have the flu you’re just going to make yourself worse.
  2. Drink lots of water. Being sick can really dehydrate you and it’ll show up on your skin. Try to drink 8 glasses of water a day and I recommend a nice herbal tea to go along with it, my favourite is earl grey green tea!
  3. When I’m sick I always get painfully dry lips that end up cracking and with cuts all over them, it’s not a very good look plus it’s painful so I use the little yellow pots of carmex. I’m not going to lie, the first few times you use it your lips will sting but after a while you’ll have lovely soft lips and no more painful cuts and cracks!
  4. I really recommend using some vaseline around your nose, when i’m sick that part of my face gets especially dry and it can be quite painful. A little dab of vaseline really does do the trick and leaves the skin soft and as good as new!
